Eligibility for Open University


Open University allows individuals who are not currently admitted to Cal Poly ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ to enroll in undergraduate- and graduate-level courses through the College of Professional and Global Education. Enrollment is offered on a space-available basis and does not result in admission to the university.

International visa holders may be eligible to enroll through Open University if they are able to maintain their non-immigrant status through a sponsoring organization. Open University does not issue or , and enrollment does not confer full-time matriculated student status.

Undergraduate students may apply up to 24 semester units of Open University coursework toward a degree. Graduate students may apply up to 9 semester units. Unit limits vary by program.

Students who have been academically disqualified from Cal Poly ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ may enroll through Open University to improve their GPA and meet readmission requirements. Students with registration holds are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. For assistance, contact the CPGE Registration Office at CPGEReg@cpp.edu.

Registration


Open University enrollment is managed on a term-by-term basis. Students must activate their account each term they plan to enroll in order to access BroncoDirect and complete registration.

If you are a disqualified or former student at CPP, make an appointment with your academic advisor to verify that your class meets degree requirements. If you’re a visiting Open University student, you may use the Course Catalog to verify course descriptions.

Courses in which you have registered will be visible in the Student Center section of your BroncoDirect account.

Financial aid is not accepted for courses taken through Open University.
