Registration Information

Your specific registration date and time (also called your registration window) is assigned based on your class level and earned units. You can find your personal registration window in your  Student Center.

Registration typically opens during the following months:

  • Summer Registration begins in March
  • Fall Registration begins in April
  • Winter & Spring Registration begins in October

Be sure to review the Registration Schedule page for important dates, including priority registration, general registration phases, and add/drop deadlines.

Plan ahead, clear any holds, and add your preferred courses to your shopping cart early — a smooth registration starts with preparation!

Registration Process


Please check your Registration Window in your  Student Center before your enrollment date.

How Windows are Assigned

Registration windows are based on:

  • Class standing (Senior, Junior, Sophomore, Freshman)
  • Units earned (completed units only; in-progress units do not count)

If students have the same number of units, windows are assigned randomly. Registration windows are final and cannot be changed. Windows will not be adjusted due to:

  • Newly posted transfer credit
  • Grade changes
  • Unit recalculations

Submit transcripts and resolve academic updates well before registration.

Graduating Senior Window (Undergraduate Only)

You may qualify if you:

  • Have 85+ earned units
  • Have 36 or fewer units remaining (including in-progress)
  • Submitted a graduation application by the deadline

Graduating seniors may enroll in up to 18 units.

Important Reminders 

  • Register as soon as your window opens. 
  • Courses may be canceled due to low enrollment. 

 

Log in to your Student Center and review the Holds section. Resolve any registration-preventing holds immediately.

Academic Advising

  • Undergraduates: Use the on Student Success Central to help you find your academic advisor.
  • Graduates: Contact your Graduate Coordinator. Students can find their graduate coordinators on the Graduate Studies website.

Plan Your Courses

  • Search for courses in .

Unit Limits (Waitlisted units do not count)

Exceeding Unit Limits

During Add/Drop, if you would like to increase your unit load during the Add/Drop period beyond the standard limit (over 18 units in Fall or Spring, 12 units in Summer, or 6 units in Winter), you must submit a Petition to Exceed Unit Cap.

Waitlist Wizard (Undergraduate Only)

Undergraduate students may opt in to the Waitlist Wizard in BroncoDirect.

Access the Waitlist Wizard in the Classes and Registration section of your BroncoDirect Student Center. Visit the Registrar’s Office Waitlisting webpage for details.

If enabled:

  • The system searches for open sections of your waitlisted course.
  • If space becomes available, you are automatically enrolled.
  • Your original waitlisted section is dropped.

Time Conflicts

To request enrollment in courses with time conflicts, submit a Schedule Conflict Override request through your  Student Center. For more information visit our webpage.

Permission Numbers

Permission numbers are required for:

  • Full classes
  • Instructor/department consent
  • Requisites
  • Student-specific courses

Obtain permission numbers from the instructor or department and enter them in BroncoDirect during enrollment. Refer to the Permission Numbers webpage for more information.

CSU Fully Online & CourseMatch (Fall & Spring terms only)
