The Academic Senate Elections and Procedures Committee is seeking nominations for representatives to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) from the following constituencies for a term starting at the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year and ending in May 2029:

- The membership of the University Curriculum Committee contains elected representatives of the Colleges, Schools, and Related Areas. The Chair of the Academic Programs Committee serves as an ex-officio member. Per AS-1107-990/AA, members of UCC shall be full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty.
- The University Curriculum Committee forwards recommendations and reviews to the Academic Senate for forwarding to the appropriate standing committee.
- The University Curriculum Committee will review all undergraduate and graduate new course proposals, identify potential overlap and/or duplication of existing courses, and make recommendations. The new course proposals so identified, and the University Curriculum Committee’s recommendations shall be forwarded to the Academic Programs Committee. The Academic Programs Committee shall then make recommendations for resolution and forward its recommendations to the Senate.
- The Associate Vice President for Academic Programs shall establish a website where new course proposals will be posted for review by campus constituencies. Comments will be solicited and forwarded to the University Curriculum Committee, and the College/School Curriculum Committee, and the Department Curriculum Committee(s) where the new course proposal originated.

Following Academic Senate Policy 1310, the Academic Senate is recruiting for the upcoming search for the Executive Medical Director (MPP III) and request support in selecting one (1) full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty member to be appointed to serve on the Executive Medical Director Search Committee within the Division of Student Affairs.
Background Information
Reporting to the AVP for Student Experience and operating under current CSU Executive Orders, this position provides clinical and administrative oversight of Student Health Services, which includes supervising medical staff, ensuring quality and compliance, and maintaining standards of care that meet student health needs.
Search Timeline
The search process is anticipated to begin on March 4, 2026. Statements of Interest Faculty appointments to the search committee are requested no later than February 27, 2026, to ensure timely participation in the search process.
Faculty Representation Request
Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) is housed within Student Affairs and is home to CFA-represented faculty counselors. Due to the strong partnership between CAPS and Student Health Services, we ask the Executive Committee to consider appointing one of the two faculty roles with a faculty counselor from CAPS, creating opportunity for this department to offer their valuable insight, both from the clinical and faculty lens, throughout the search process.

The Academic Senate is recruiting for one (1) faculty member from each of the following constituencies to serve on the established Provost’s Awards for Excellence Selection Committee (see Policy 1212(PDF) for additional details):
- College of Education and Integrative Studies (term ends 2027)

The meeting schedule will be based on the committee members’ availability.
This committee will select the outstanding faculty for three different awards: The Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Service, and the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Scholarly and Creative Activities.
According to the Academic Senate Constitution, Article II, Section 3 (G), unit 3 representation on University Committees should only be assigned by the Senate. Eligible unit 3 members are probationary and tenured faculty, full-time lecturers, librarians, counselor faculty, coaches, and FERP faculty with a 0.5 base for two semesters.
Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement (minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 500 words) detailing:

The Academic Senate is taking nominations for a representative from each College for the Exceptional Assigned Time Committee (EATC) for the 2025-26 academic year.
Constituency terms that expired in 2025 are Collins College of Hospitality Management, College of Environment Design, Library and Related Areas.
Policy 1399, Assigned Time for Exceptional Levels of Service to Students(PDF)implements Article 20.37 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The policy states the Exceptional Assigned Time Committee will be elected with representatives from each college and the University Library.
EATC Eligibility:
- Full-time tenured faculty and tenure-track faculty are eligible to serve.

The Academic Senate is recruiting for five (5) faculty represenatives from the following colleges for the University Writing Committee (UWC):
- College of Business Administration (1 Vacancy)
- Collins College of Hospitality Management (1 Vacancy)
- College of Education and Integrative Studies (1 Vacancy)
The UWC has been formed to address EO 665, GWAR Policy Update. has been updated accordingly and per the policy the UWC shall consist of a Faculty Director or Coordinator with expertise in “Writing in the Disciplines” pedagogy who will serve as committee chair, the Composition Coordinator, one representative from each college, the University Library, a representative from the Office of Academic Programs, and a representative from the Office of Assessment and Program Review. It is recommended the University Writing Center Coordinator be included as well.
According to the Academic Senate Constitution, Article II, Section 3 (E), unit 3 representation on University Committees should only be assigned by the Senate.
Eligible unit 3 members are probationary and tenured faculty, temporary faculty (full-time lecturers), librarians, counselor faculty, and coaches, and FERP faculty with a 0.5 base for two semesters.

The Executive Committee of the Academic Senate is recruiting members for the 2025-2026 Academic Senate standing committees. The Bylaws of the Academic Senate(PDF) provide information on the standing committees. Standing Committees meet Wednesdays from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. except for Wednesday when Academic Senate meetings are scheduled. The members of the standing committees shall be appointed by the Executive Committee and serve a one-year term. The exception is the Budget Committee where appointed faculty members serve three (3) year staggered terms (unless otherwise stated).
The following are vacancies per constituency:

- Academic Affairs Committee - Two (2) vacancies for CBA and CLASS
- Academic Programs Committee - One (1) vacancy for COL

College RTP Committee Policy 1328(PDF), Section 4.0:

Faculty serving on the CRTPC must be tenured and have the rank of professor, Librarian, or counselor.

The CRTPC shall be elected before 3rd week in April.

A majority of votes cast, by secret ballot, shall be required for election, if not a runoff is required.

The Academic Senate is currently seeking nominations for faculty representatives from the following constituencies for the Council for Graduate and Faculty Scholarship (CGFS) for terms ending in 2026 or 2027:
- College of Environmental Design (term ends 2026)
Tenured and tenure-track faculty are eligible to serve. Self-nomination is permitted.
CGFS Responsibilities ():
- To implement the campus plan for the Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Program, including inviting and reviewing faculty proposals for grants, recommending awards, and coordinating an evaluation of the effectiveness of the program.
- To award seed grants to support preliminary activities, funded through the Research Office, for the purpose of increasing the recipients' ability to compete successfully for extramural funding.
- To liaise with the proposed Undergraduate Research Faculty Advisory Council
- To promote the development of research, scholarship, and creative activities in the members' constituencies, by having the individual Council members act as liaison with other faculty members in their constituencies.
- To ensure co-ordination between the Council and URFAC, the Council should contain at least one member from URFAC in an ex-officio capacity. The Council should be represented in the same way on URFAC.
- The Council will select one of its regularly elected members to represent them on URFAC.
