older photo of the Arabian Horse CenterBefore Cal Poly Ðǿմ«Ã½ had rockets, Rose Floats and residence halls, it had Arabian horses.

In 1925, W.K. Kellogg established a private ranch that quickly gained national attention for its purebred Arabian horses and popular Sunday Shows, which attracted large crowds and Hollywood celebrities. In 1932, Kellogg donated the ranch to the State of California. Today, the ranch is the home of Cal Poly Ðǿմ«Ã½, which serves more than 27,000 students and is recognized as the No. 1 polytechnic university for diversity and economic mobility.

As the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center celebrates its centennial in 2025- 26, Kellogg’s legacy is both preserved and growing to reach thousands of students, community partners and visitors. Each spring brings new foals. Every month, Sunday Horse Shows draw hundreds of families and visitors. Each day, students have hands-on learning experiences that embody Cal Poly Ðǿմ«Ã½’s polytechnic approach.

Most recently, the center has partnered with TeachingHorse to offer world-class leadership development experiences for organizations and individuals.
