Summary of disruption: State-mandated testing of repairs to the fire safety systems in the Science Laboratory (Building 3) will start at 6 a.m. on Friday, April 24. Audible fire alarm testing and strobe light will be activated until 7:30 a.m. Testing is expected to be completed by approximately 7:30 a.m.
Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws to ensure that fire safety systems are working properly.
How does this affect me? Audible fire alarms and strobe lights will be activated between 6 and 7:30 a.m. HVAC systems may undergo temporary shutdowns.
What do I need to do? Avoid being in the building during testing. Please share this fire safety testing information with others in the buildings who may have not received this message. If audible fire alarms are heard and strobe lights are activated after 8 a.m., evacuate the building.

Update on disruption: The elevator in Building One has undergone repairs and has returned to service. Issues with recurrent power interruptions have been resolved.

Summary of disruption: Repairs to a water heater will force the shutdown of water to the main kitchen and public restrooms at the Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies (Building 209) starting at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22. Water service is expected to be restored by approximately 10 a.m.
Reason for disruption: Allow a campus crew to access the water heater and make repairs.
How does this affect me? Use restrooms, drinking fountains and faucets in other parts of the facility.
What do I need to do? Please share this information with others in the building who may have not received this message.

Summary of disruption: Contractor crews will begin demolition of the roof at the Don B. Huntley College of Agriculture (Building 2) starting on Monday, March 30. Crews will perform the work on weekdays from approximately 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Access around the building will be limited during the work. Equipment trucks will periodically and temporarily obstruct a pathway and loading area north of the building. Precautions will be taken to minimize the noise generated during removal and replacement of the roof. The project is expected to be completed by Monday, June 22.
Reason for disruption: Allow contractor crews to demolish the old roof and install the new covering.
How does this affect me? Walkways and areas around the building may be closed periodically and temporarily because of the project. Vehicular parking and pedestrian access to the building will be affected.
What do I need to do? Building users, pedestrians and drivers of campus vehicles are urged to exercise caution and use detours around any closed walkways and access points. Please share this information with others in the building who may have not received this message.

Summary of disruption: The lobby escalator that serves the University Library (Building 15) remains inoperable because a safety-related piece of equipment needs replacement. The escalator will remain out of service until the part can be located and shipped. There is no timeline for repairs at this juncture.
Reason for disruption: Allow a contractor crew to replace a damaged safety-related part in the escalator.
How does this affect me? Library staff and visitors are urged to use stairways and elevators in the building until the escalator repair is completed.
