Electromechanical Systems Engineering Technology

The Polytechnic Experience

Design programs in C and C++, use the fundamentals of mechanics to design machine elements and study basic manufacturing practices. Take theories from lectures and apply them in labs, becoming an applications-oriented, technical problem solver ready to innovate and make an impact on engineering teams.

Courses

Cal Poly Ðǿմ«Ã½â€™s Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Systems Engineering Technology focuses on integrating mechanical and electronic systems. The curriculum covers a broad range of topics including statics, dynamics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, HVAC, machine elements, manufacturing processes, robotics, and control systems. Students are trained to apply these principles in design, analysis, and production, preparing them for roles as technical members of engineering teams. Graduates are equipped with strong applied mathematics skills and a practical understanding of engineering methods to solve industry problems efficiently. The program bridges mechanical and electronic systems, supported by involvement with the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) and offers scholarships through AEE and ASHRAE.
