Cisco Jabber Maintenance
Summary: The Division of Information Technology will perform maintenance for on Thursday evening, September 25, between 8:30 p.m. and midnight.
What does this mean for me? For Jabber users, the app may be briefly unavailable during the maintenance window and will require logging back into the service following the maintenance period.
Planned Maintenance Times
- Thursdays, 9:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., midnight.
- Sundays, 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
During these times, online services may be briefly unavailable without advance notice.

The CSU Artificial Intelligence Survey
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in an anonymous CSU-wide survey on our experiences using generative AI (GenAI) tools like ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot and have a chance to win an iPad or a gift card. The survey provides the CSU with a snapshot of CPP's GenAI needs and runs through Monday, October 6.

Microsoft Copilot
Curious how generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) supports work, studies, and creative projects? Now's a great time to explore Microsoft Copilot.
From brainstorming ideas, summarizing information in Microsoft 365 documents, or transcribing meeting notes in Teams, Copilot can assist you in streamlining your workflows and is available when you need it.
To get started, visit CPP's Microsoft 365 page. While using Copilot, ask it to summarize "Artificial Intelligence at CPP" and explore how it finds and cites online sources, even without a URL. You can also ask it to provide a to-do list for requests in your Outlook inbox or summarize unread emails.

Cal Poly Ðǿմ«Ã½ and The California State University provides ChatGPT Edu, for students, faculty and staff. Log in to using your cpp.edu email or from the . Similar to Microsoft's Copilot, ChatGPT Edu is an AI-powered chatbot and personal assistant designed to enhance productivity and simplify day-to-day tasks for higher education institutions. Use ChatGPT to support activities like:
- Drafting reports, checking grammar, and assisting with communications.
- Brainstorming ideas and potential solutions.
- Break down complex projects into actionable steps.

Guidelines for responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)
The CSU and Cal Poly Ðǿմ«Ã½ have guidelines for the responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). These guidelines are not intended to prohibit, prevent, or inhibit academics, research, or creativity but to safeguard data, and personal information. GenAI or comparable tools must not violate any CSU or CPP policies.
Tickets Now Available for the Cybersecurity and Awareness Fair
The Cal Poly Ðǿմ«Ã½ Cybersecurity & Awareness Fair (CSAF) returns on October 7.This year's theme, "Guardians of the Grid," brings together students, experts, professionals, and the community to discuss the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and practices for defending critical infrastructure against cyberattacks. This 21st annual event will be held in the Bronco Student Center on October 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are available now, and the event is free and open to the public.
Attendees have access to sessions presented by industry-leading companies and CPP student clubs holding interactive demonstrations.
The CSAF Poster Contest
Students are encouraged to submit their research posters and engage with attendees in presenting their findings during the event.
