About Me

Ata Khan (he/him/his) is Planning Manager of the Planning Division in the City of Ðǿմ«Ã½, where he oversees daily operations. His team is currently implementing multiple planning efforts in Ðǿմ«Ã½, including the first comprehensive update to Ðǿմ«Ã½’s zoning code since 1949, a SCAG-funded citywide Complete Streets ordinance, and a new Environmental Justice and Public Health Element in the Ðǿմ«Ã½ General Plan. Ata also manages the City’s Art in Public Places Program, which administers the one-percent Public Art Fund on qualified public art projects. Ata received a Master’s in Urban & Regional Planning from University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor of Arts in Environment, Economics & Politics from Claremont McKenna College. He currently lectures URP 4850, Urban Design Principles and Techniques, and URP 4510, Land Use and Urban Design Policy.
