Education and Workforce

The vision of CREST-RASM’s education and workforce development plan is to create a comprehensive program spanning elementary, middle, and high school, continuing through community college and undergraduate studies, and culminating in a graduate pathway leading to a Ph.D. fellowship at a research-intensive institution. The plan outlines 13 key tasks highlighting CREST’s unique opportunities and collaborative approach beyond individual grants.

Goal

The goals of the CREST-RASM K-12 education program are:

  1. To increase awareness and interest of students in STEM education and career opportunities in smart manufacturing.
  2. To create a pipeline of students, especially those who are URMs, to support CREST-RASM initiatives.

Dr. Olukemi Sawyerr

Dr. Olukemi Sawyerr is the Inaugural Associate Vice President for Academic Innovation at Ðǿմ«Ã½, Ðǿմ«Ã½ (Cal Poly Ðǿմ«Ã½). In this capacity she provides strategic direction and administrative oversight to the Office of Academic Innovation. She is one of the Senior Personnels for the CREST-RASM grant.
