ECS Practicum Information

All ECS students must take practicum:

  • If you started at CPP as a freshman, you must take both / (typically during sophomore year) and / (only during senior year), if you are in a teaching pathway.
  • If you started at CPP as a transfer student, you should have taken an equivalent to /; however, if you did not, you must take / as soon as possible and / (only during senior year), if you are in a teaching pathway.
  • If you started at CPP as a freshman, you must take /(typically during sophomore year), if you are in the non-teaching or ITEP pathways.

Please review all information on this page. This site can be used at any time in any semester, however there is a hard due date for applications to be considered for the next semester:

The due dates for practicum application will remain the same each year:

  • Spring Semester Placement: applications can open July 1st and close September 1st at 11:59PM.
  • Summer or Fall Semester Placement: applications can open December 1st and close February 1st at 11:59PM.

Late applications will not be accepted.

The orientation below is required for all students who wish to take ECS /and/or ECS /. At the end of the orientation, the link to the Practicum application will be given.

Required Clearance Documentation

If after you complete the Practicum Application Orientation and determine that you will apply for practicum, you must prepare  and obtain clearance for the items listed below before beginning the application

  1. A valid, non-expired, CTC-issued or is required.  Details are included on the application and in links below.
  2. Childhood vaccination verification is also required.
  3. TB Clearance cannot be older than 1 year from the time your practicum semester ends
  4. Flu shot verification or a declination statement (available in the canvas orientation) must be submitted.

 **Completing the Canvas application orientation is only the first step to a complete practicum application. If you complete this orientation on the application due date, you WILL NOT make the deadline. It is suggested students complete this Orientation at least one month before the application deadline.

Requests to Change a Previously Submitted Application

If you have already applied and need to request a change to the start term or to withdraw your application completely, please email Karina Serna in Placement Services. The Credential Services Office should respond within 48-72 hours, excluding weekends.
