Michael D. Caligiuri

Assistant Professor
Michael Caligiuri spent almost 20 years as management in the hotel industry -- 15 of those years moonlighting as an entrepreneur and small business owner -- before pivoting to higher education on a full-time level. While at Pennsylvania State University working toward a Ph.D. in organizational behavior, diversity and inclusion, Caligiuri taught undergraduate courses within the School of Hospitality Management. In his final semester, students rated his performance as an instructor a perfect 7 of 7.
Caligiuri’s research has spanned from diversity and inclusion to employee retention and turnover with funding assistance coming from sources like the Grace M. Henderson Graduate Scholarship, awarded to one Penn State graduate student a year, and the New York University School of Professional Studies’ dean’s office. The NYU dean's scholarship was part of Project Aspire that worked with potential first-generation college bound high school students from the New York/Tri-state area.

In-Hye Kang
International Business and Marketing Management
Assistant Professor
In-Hye Kang taught digital marketing analytics at University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a course she developed as part of the social media marketing concentration. Before joining academia, Kang was a marketing researcher with Gallup Korea and began presenting consumer behavior research while working towards a Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Maryland.
Kang became a full-time professor in 2019, but her time instructing students dates back to 2011 at New York University where she was awarded Best Teaching Assistant for her work with master’s level statistics in behavioral sciences courses. She has presented at more than 20 conferences and is an ad hoc reviewer for academic journals including International Journal of Research in Marketing.

Yuka Nishikawa
Finance, Real Estate and Law
Assistant Professor
Yuka Nishikawa taught upper division finance classes at Florida International University enroute to a Ph.D. in finance. She was working as an assistant professor of finance at the College of Charleston before switching coasts to continue her career in higher education with the finance, real estate and law department at Cal Poly ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½’s College of Business Administration.
Within the last two years, Nishikawa’s research appeared four times in top industry periodicals, published twice by Managerial Finance and in two other issues of Journal of Behavioral Finance. She won the Southwestern Finance Association’s 2020 Best Doctoral Paper Award in Behavioral Science and 2021 Best Paper Award in Corporate Finance. Nishikawa was elected to Southwestern Finance Association’s board in 2022.
