Cal Poly Ðǿմ«Ã½'s IRB mission is to uphold ethical research standards to ensure the protections of human subjects.
We operate under federal regulations () and hold a Federal Wide Assurance with the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP).
All research involving human subjects by CPP faculty, staff, or students must be reviewed by the IRB.

Responsibilities

- Review all human subject research conducted at or by CPP.
- Determine the level of review based on risk and federal policy.
- Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements and establish additional guidelines as needed.
- Meet monthly during academic terms and as needed in summer.
- suspend, place restrictions upon, or terminate research activities that fall within its jurisdiction that are not being conducted in accordance with IRB requirements.

CPP's IRB is guided by the Belmont Report principals and all applicable Federal regulations to protect participants rights and welfare.
